Engraving is the process of removing some of the material worked on to leave an indentation of the image or text.  The result is an image almost impossible to wear off.  It is suitable for very harsh conditions and anti-vandal applications.

The depth of the engraving is controlled.  It can be millimetres deep for heavy duty use, such as aluminium plates for welding to airfreight containers.  It can be a light ‘scratch’ using a diamond tool as used on Laptops and Ipads.

Materials normally used are metals, usually aluminium, and polycarbonates, but we are continually experimenting with different stocks to improve our service.

As the machine is computer driven, variable data can be applied.  Machine data plates can be serial numbered, for example.

As always, we are happy to discuss ideas and carry out material tests where appropriate.
